Coalition News is the quarterly newsletter of the Minnesota Coaliton for Death Education and Support. Editor is volunteer Board Member Sharon Dardis. Layout is done by staff member Verla Goeden. Regularly appearing columns (many of which are written by contributing MCDES members) include the following:

Don't Ever Let That Happen To Me. Information on Health Care Directives. Read this sample from the June 2005 issue.

The Screen Scene: Images of Life and Death. Members are invited to preview any films that teach lessons about death, dying, bereavement and life. Read a sample from the June 2004 issue.

Death and the Arts. Members are invited to share original poetry, prose, essays or art that illustrates creative grief. If submitting someone else's work, permission must be granted before we can print.

Clinicians Corner. Co-authored by Connie Ryan-Oakes and Allison Chant, both therapists and MCDES Board members, this is a question and answer feature focusing on grief therapy. Questions from members are welcome. Read a sample from the September 2004 issue.

Book Reviews. Board member Ralph Rickgarn routinely offers a variety of book reviews for membership information. Again, contributing book reviews from other members is also encouraged. Read a sample from the March 2004 issue.

Sundries, Upcoming Events, and Resources. Organizational resources such as support groups, classes, conferences, and other bearevement related activities are listed for member information and networking purposes. If submitting for this column, please remember to note deadline dates for upcoming issues in order to provide timely information to colleageus.

From the Editor. A quarterly musing from the editor which also reviews the newsletter contents and invites readership and membership. Read a sample from the June 2004 issue.

On the Road. Board member Connie M. Moeller offers a travelogue that focuses on various death, dying and bereavement cultural traditions and locations that she encounters on her worldwide travels.

Miscellaneous Articles. MCDES welcomes member submissions that relate to their own area of expertise, interest or organization. Most articles are limited to one page/three columns. Feel free to contact the editor with questions

Following MCDES bi-annual conferences, highlights and a review are published along with photos. Read highlights of the annual meeting from the March 2004 issue.

Notes from the Chair. MCDES Chairman Ben Wolfe offers insights or highlights upcoming events of interest to the membership.

Meet the Member. Member interviews appear along with a photo. Written by a board member, this is another way to encourage networking among our organization.

Scholarship invitations and information. Reports are given on recipients of Don Irish Diversity Grant. Invitations to apply for both this grant as well as Dorothy Geis Scholarship Fund appear frequently in Coalition News.
